As mentioned in my previous post, I haven't been gaming, but I sure as heck have been painting and basing, and Joe Legan bullied me into proving I've actually been productive, so here we go with some blog posts (finally).
Next up we have my Red Devils based in a temperate scheme for Normandy and Market Garden. I have completed another Red Devils force for urban fighting (Market Garden), which you'll see soon, and I'm working on a third force based for the desert (Tunisia and Sicily). Yes, I seem to have gone a bit overboard, but I've definitely jumped into 15mm with both feet...
Regarding this force, I painted very little of it. I may have painted a couple command stands and the flamethrower stand, but pretty much everything else was bought, and I simply had to base it. The four 6-pdr ATGs were from a gentleman on Ebay, while most of the force was bought painted from Gajo Minis.
-A Commanding Officer stand
-An Executive Officer (XO, or 2iC) stand
-Five rifle platoons (three sections, a Platoon Commander -PC-, and a PIAT)
-An MG Platoon of four Vickers MGs and a PC
-A light ATG Platoon (four 6-pdr guns and a PC)
-A heavy ATG Platoon (two 17-pdr guns and a PC)
-A Mortar Platoon (three 3" tubes and a PC)
-I also have two 2" mortars and a flamethrower team thrown in
And there you go, my Red Devils, all set to jump into action. Been in love with these guys since I was a kid, from "The Longest Day" and "A Bridge Too Far," of course. Can't wait to get up to some mischief with them.
More to follow!
