1/600 WWII Pacific Coastal Forces

All,

Continuing with my WWII in the Pacific forces, I present my 1/600 minis from PT Dockyard.  Not a large force, just big enough to give me some (hopefully) interesting games, and I can always add to them later, if necessary.  I'd bought these long before "Cruel Seas" was ever out (at least in public), but they'd sat on a shelf, untouched, until a bunch of guys (like that dastardly Sunjester, for example) started popping out coastal action batreps.  Those batreps convinced me to finally get off my butt and knock these things out.  As always, they're not beautiful, but they'll work for me, and some of you may be turned off as I gave them a really heavy wash to dirty them up.

So, here's what I've got:
-some sort of merchant ship, much bigger than everything else
-4 x US PT Boats
-1 x US LCM
-2 x 85' "Luggers"
-2 x Japanese T-1 MTBs
-1 x Japanese Type C Gunboat
-2 x Japanese 46' Daihatsu barges
-2 x Japanese Daihatsu gunboats

Here are the four US PT Boats, three exactly the same, the fourth with a radome.

A closeup two boats' starboard side.  You can see I painted them up camo, and tried to put wakes on the bow.

Port side.

Fore and aft.

The two Japanese T-1 MTBs.  A little flair with the red-nosed torpedoes.

Another look.

And one more.

The Japanese Type C Gunboat.

And port side.

The two 85' luggers.  I figure these will pull duty as either Allied or Japanese, depending on scenario needs.

Again.

The US LCM, which we used to call Mike Boats.

Again.

The four Japanese 46' Daihatsu barges.  The two unarmed troop carriers are at left, two converted into gunboats at right.

A closer look at the gunboats.

And the troop carriers.

And one more.

On to the merchantman.  I don't really know anything about it other than the description that it's 1200 tons.  It looks American to me, but I could be wrong.  Again I'll use it for either side, dependent upon the scenario needs.

Off the port beam.

The forward gun mount.

The bridge and forecastle.

And the stern.

So there you go, I am now in the coastal actions business, and happy to be there.  Not sure when I'll get their first games in, I've got a lot of dogfighting, then ground combat to do before PT Boats get into the fight.

V/R,
Jack

My buddy Sunray's stuff:

"I know you appreciate adventures in 6mm, and I am modelling a river fleet in 6mm -  a sort of spin off to the recent Cruel Seas craze.  Four of the models featured below have Irregular DNA.

From the front:
  1. WWTM3 "D" class ferry converted to MZ Motozattera ferry (£28 from Warlord)
  2. GWV31  Gunboat -  major rebuild of superstructure and additional guns
  3. An Airfix 25mm Bailey Bridge float, cut down and married to bits from BO5, with additional guns from Cruel Sea - the weapons are mounted on tack heads, so I can re-equip as a Khartoum era Melik style vessel,
  4. BO4 -  converted to a 1930s era  car ferry- based on HO scale Sea Port Model Works model.
  5. The two works in progress in the background are a steam gun boat and an Arab Dhow - both being converted down to 6mm in scale

Enjoy the eye candy.

Best wishes

Sunray

PS - I have a number of 10mm ships on the slips including.........an Aircraft Carrier!"

FOR SALE: 1/600 WWII, Vietnam, and Modern Aircraft Collections

All,

I was upstairs to make some clean space so I could, ya know, actually get some gaming in, and I noticed something: it's getting harder and harder to make a clean space.  Ya know why?  I got too much stuff!!!  So, as much as I don't want to, I need to clear some more space.  Over the past few years I racked up a decent-sized collection of 1/600 (3mm) aircraft, mostly from PicoArmor (Oddzial Ozmy), but a sizeable amount from Tumbling Dice as well.  I've got WWII Pacific, WWII Battle of Britain, Vietnam War (USN and USAF), and a cross section of 'modern' air wars.

***The aircraft are in various states.  Some are completed (primed, painted, washed, decals, magnet applied), then others go down from there, all the way to simply primed, with everything in between.  I'd guess that just a little under half of all the aircraft for sale are ready for the tabletop; if you're unsure about the status of particular aircraft, contact me via the comments here or via email.  I'm selling these fairly cheaply because they're 'as is,' I'm not looking to put more effort into painting these so I can sell them, so please keep that in mind.

I'm selling them in packages, and I'm selling as follows:

Whole Package: N/A
Vietnam: $55 ($50 + actual shipping for International)
WWII Battle of Britain: SOLD
WWII Pacific: SOLD
Modern:
SOLD

I can't really see myself breaking these up into smaller packages, you'd have to be offering some serious cash, AND I'd really have to like ya, and I don't like that many people ;)  In any case, I think I'm offering pretty competitive rates, pretty much less than the bare metal costs.  I'll ship anywhere; the US price includes postage, international can knock $5 off the price BUT you have to pay ACTUAL SHIPPING.

If you're interested in buying, please contact me via email at: big jack mac (at) hot mail (dot) com
-Take out all spaces, replace parentheses with "@" and "."
I very much prefer to do business via Paypal, it's quick, easy, reliable, and there's a record of the transaction, and I'll have your order in the mail within two days of payment.

More Modern Aircraft Finished

All,

In case you thought I've forgotten about my dogfighting project, here's proof it's still in motion (yes, KG Klink has once again taken center stage though).  I recently received an order from Picoarmor and have been steadfastly working on them, though there is still work to do.

Here's the whole mess.  I've gotten 32 finished, while 32 more have been primed and had magnets affixed, and six more have only been primed (I need to buy more magnets).  In the waiting line above are four Israeli Mirage IIIs, four USMC AV-8 Harriers, four F-4 Phantoms (not sure what to do with them; looking at a Cold War gray, maybe USN gray, not sure), six more F-15s, four more MiG-29s, four MiG-23s, and four Su-27s.

On a side note, upstairs I have a boatload of USAF (F-4s, F-105s, A-1 Skyraiders), USN (F-4s, F-8s, A-4s, A-6s, A-7s, RA-5s, E-1Bs, SH-3s), and PAVN (MiG-17s, MiG-19s, MiG-21s) aircraft for Vietnam in various states of undress, F-86s and MiG-15s for MiG Alley primed, a bunch of USN and IJA/IJN for Pacific WWII, some Flying Tigers and early war bombers for China WWII, and some more Battle of Britain that need to be finished.

On to what I just finished.

Four USAF (maybe Saudi as well?) F-15s.

Four Euro Fighter Typhoons, to be used for some hypothetical modern stuff by anyone that flies Typhoons (UK and Germans in particular, I'd imagine).

Four British Harriers for the Falklands.

Four Argentinian Mirages (or Daggers) for the Falklands.

Four Russian/USSR SU-27 Flankers, for hypotheticals.  I've got more I'm going to paint up for China.

Four Russia/USSR MiG-29 Fulcrums for hypothetical.

Four USAF (or maybe Danish, Norwegian, etc...) F-16s.

Four Argentinian A-4 Skyhawks for the Falklands.

My Falklands contingent: four A-4s, four Mirages/Daggers, and four Harriers.

My 'Free-World' contingent: four F-16s, four Typhoons, and four F-15s.  I also have four Israeli F-16s and four USN/USMC F-18s.

My Cold War/modern hypothetical bad guys: Russian MiG-29s and four Russian Su-27s.  I also have four Syrian MiG-23s and four Iraqi MiG-29s.

Well, I've got a bunch more stuff to get written up, stay tuned.

V/R,
Jack
